QC Items

qc.ebu.io primarily defines QC Items.

Each QC Item is represented as a QC Card that summarizes it.

A single QC Item card: the identifier and version at the top, an illustration in the middle, and the test name and key parameters listed below

The four lines on the card and the difference between Definition and Description are explained in Editing QC Items.

Behind it there is a detailed specification of what the test is about and which Input and Output Parameters it includes. Links to related standards and examples are provided as well.

Each version is labelled with the data model it follows: Legacy (pre-2026-04), served by API v1 and v2, or EBU QC data model 2026-04, served by API v3 (see API). On the Item page, a colour key shows which fields exist only in API v3 (light blue, "v3") or only in API v1/v2 (grey, "v1/v2 only").

A programme does not need every test defined to be carried out – the key is to use the cards to build a viable test set for each of the programme's destinations.
