Signing in
You do not need an account to read qc.ebu.io. Published QC Items, their card images and the API are all open to anyone. Signing in is what gives you your own QC Templates, access to restricted Test Materials, the ability to take part in Discussions, and, for Editors, the drafting tools.
Getting an account
qc.ebu.io uses your EBU account. If you do not have one, you can create one free of charge: go to Sign in and, on the EBU login page, choose No account? Create one!. After signing up you return to qc.ebu.io.
Signing in itself is handled by the EBU's central login, so qc.ebu.io never sees or stores your password.
The first time you sign in, and again whenever the privacy notice changes, you are asked to read and acknowledge the privacy notice before you continue. An account that has been removed by an administrator, or disabled in the EBU account system, cannot sign in; the sign-in page then shows a message.
What you can see depends on your role
Creating an account makes you a logged user. Editor and higher roles are related to work in the EBU QC Group. The way to become an Editor is to join the EBU QC Group.

If you have just been given access
Your rights follow your EBU Group memberships, which are refreshed when you sign in and every night (the result is then cached for up to 5 minutes), so a change made while you are already signed in does not take effect immediately. If you have just joined an EBU Group and still cannot see what you expect:
- Sign out.
- Sign in again.
This is the usual reason a newly added Test Material folder or QC Item stays invisible. The same applies to access to QC Test Materials.
Your account page
Once signed in, your name at the top right leads to your account, where you can see the data held about you and manage which e-mail notifications you receive. See Your account.
If something is wrong with your account
For access problems, a duplicate account, or an address that is out of date, e-mail tech@ebu.ch.
